The approx. 12 km long circular cycle route runs roughly in the shape of a figure of eight through a charming flat to undulating rural park landscape.

The cycle tour "In the footsteps of Bernard Overberg" is dedicated to the priest Bernard Overberg (1754 - 1826), born in the Voltlager district of Höckel, the rector of the seminary in the prince-bishopric of Münster and "teacher of teachers".

A total of 19 information boards explain the life and work of Bernard Overberg as well as striking landscape features such as orchards and Weeser ponds or wayside shrines of stations of the cross and memorial stones. In its extensive collection, the Höckel local history museum provides information about life and work in rural areas.
