Walshagenpark

Rheine

The Walshagen Park was created in the 1960s by a citizens' initiative. The former private forest was turned into a citizen's park worth experiencing with great recreational value.

An impressive variety of plants, a pond, statues, various fountains, the wetland biotope, the exercise trail, the large children's playground, two fairgrounds, the football pitches and a cottage garden await visitors to the Bürgerpark. The focal point of the park is the "Schafstall", an old stable dating back to 1631, which today houses a meeting and festival room.

The approximately 150,000 square metre park and forest area is freely accessible all year round. An atmospheric Christmas market with a very special flair always takes place in Walshagen Park on the first weekend of Advent.
